Meet Stephanie
The name Stephanie is derived from the Greek word Stephanos (Stephen), which means "crown". St. Stephen was the first martyr of the Orthodox Church, who is depicted wearing a crown to symbolize his martyrdom. I have always loved the meaning behind my name and am blessed to be named after one of the great saints of our church.
Raised as an Orthodox Christian, I had witnessed the Sacramental traditions of the church, but didn't realize their mysterious beauty until I was preparing to participate in the Sacrament of Marriage myself. Learning the true meaning of two joining together as one, and the wedding crowns (stefanas) being the physical representation of this union, I was inspired to make our own. Knowing our crowns were handmade and one-of-a-kind made them even more special. Our crowns are displayed as a constant reminder of our union, not only to each other, but to God.
I loved making our crowns and didn't want my journey to end after our wedding. I continued to improve my technique, attended jewelry making classes, and learned how to make wire-wrapped jewelry to improve my crown-making skills. With this newfound passion, and being named Stephanie, I felt a calling to create and share unique stefanas with everyone.
Through Designs by Stephanie, I would be honored to create crowns for your wedding. Every stefana is uniquely designed for the Orthodox Wedding and is handled with love and given close attention to detail. While I create stefanas available on this site for purchase, I encourage you and/or your sponsors to share custom requests that will make your crowns even more special. A few examples could be including pieces from a family wedding dress, your own beads or jewelry, etc.
I also offer other sacramental items like candles, favors, pins, towels, etc. and jewelry spanning from everyday wear to formal occasions. Every item is personally designed and handmade with close attention to detail.

How long does it take to make an item?
Depending on the complexity of the item, it typically takes up to 2 weeks to create. All items are handmade, uniquely designed pieces. Custom orders may take longer depending on the request. What kind of custom orders does Designs by Stephanie accept?
Designs by Stephanie welcomes all requests and will let you know if it's possible to create custom items within your budget and timeframe! Customizations could include things like color changes, incorporating meaningful items into the design (fabric from a wedding dress), or materials sent directly (specific beads, wire, etc.). What is the returns and exchanges policy?
Designs by Stephanie does not accept cancelations or returns. All sales are final.
Exchanges will be accepted (unless the item was personalized) as long as:
- the exchange request is made to Designs by Stephanie through the Contact form below within 30 days of the delivery date.
- the goods must be packaged in the same way you received them.
- the goods must be in new condition without any signs of use.
-the customer is responsible for paying to mail the goods back to Designs by Stephanie Inc. Use the Contact form to receive shipment information.

What are the delivery options?
All items are carefully packaged and mailed through UPS or USPS. Shipping timing starts once the items have been created. A tracking number will be provided. Automatic shipping costs are based on standard shipping (1-5 business days) at checkout. If you would like to request a different shipping method, please use the Contact form below to receive a custom shipping quote. We currently only ship within the United States.
Please note: Designs by Stephanie is not responsible for damages during shipping, delays due to shipping, or errors in provided shipping addresses. Please manage these complaints directly with UPS or USPS. If damaged, please place a new order with a note kindly requesting to expedite the process.
