What is a Stefana?

Stefana is the Greek word for "crown". Orthodox Christians are "crowned" when they are married to symbolize both their martyrdom in marriage as well as their newly appointed roles as King and Queen of their households. Orthodox wedding crowns (Stefanas) are used in the sacramental service of marriage to join two together as one under God. Learn more here.
